The UMA Faculty of Law in collaboration with the Jakarta Development University Held an Online Series III Seminar
and the UMA Faculty of Law as the host of online seminars that are held free of charge and open to the public for State and Private lecturers and students as well as the public from government instances by bringing the theme of the event "Legal Protection of Children's Rights in the Covid-19 Pandemic Period" 'at (May 29, 2020).
In the online seminar, the speakers discussed how to overcome the protection of children's rights during the Covid-19 era, whose impact reached the world, especially in the current Millennial Generation.
Before the webinar was opened, the first opening remarks were directly by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Medan Area Dr. Rizkan Zulyadi, SH, MH, he has the achievement of achieving the hope of hope 1 National Defending National Seminar facing the Industrial Revolution 4.0 held by the University of Defense in 2019 in Bogor and many other achievements, in a speech from the Dean of the Faculty of Law UMA said that this event was also a manifestation of Tridarma Perguruan Tinggi, the dean expects that in this webinar event to be able to alleviate or slightly overcome the difficulties that occur in people's lives in handling the Covid-19 pandemic that is happening at this time.
"I also hope that the speakers can motivate the participants especially the students of the Faculty of Law, University of Medan Area to study because there are many successful graduates including successful law faculty students who get good jobs and make UMA's law faculty proud," said the UMA dean of law faculty.
This webinar is also in line with the Vision of the UMA Faculty of Law, which is to become a superior faculty and able to produce critical, professional and moral practitioners and academies.
This Online Seminar was also attended by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Zaini Munawir, SH, M.Hum The Deputy Dean for Student Affairs Ridho Mubarak, SH, MH, with 130 participants consisting of Lecturers and Students from several State and Private campuses and the public from government institution.

The speaker at the webinar this time was Dr. Beniharmoni Harefa, SH, LLM, he from the Faculty of Law, Jakarta Development University (UPN Veterans Jakarta) explained how legal protection for the rights of a child during the Covid-19 pandemic, while the rights described by Mr. Beniharmoni Harefa in his presentation were touches on the 1989 UN Convention in which at the convention it was agreed that there were 4 Basic Rights of Children and then divided again there were 10 children's rights which had been ratified by Presidential Decree 36 of 1990.
