Commemorating the 74th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, all academics of the Medan Area University (UMA) and SMK / SMA / equivalent students in all cities took part in a relaxing walking event on Thursday (08/16).
The activity, which was attended by at least 1,000 participants, was symbolically released by the Head of the Youth and Sports Service Baharuddin Siagian, SH, M.Sc, Agus Salim Hajj Education Foundation Drs. M. Erwin Siregar, MBA, and Rector of the Medan Area University Prof. Dr. Dadan Ramdan M.Eng, M.Sc, by taking the route in front of the Medan City Post Office, Merdeka Field, then walked around the Perintis Kemerdekaan Road, then finished on campus 1 of the Medan Area University.
Before releasing the participants to take a leisurely walk, the Head of the Youth and Sports Service (Dispora) of North Sumatra Baharuddin Siagian said that the distance traveled on the path from the Front of the Merdeka Square Post Office to Campus 1, University of Medan Area Jl. Swimming No. 1 Medan Estate should not cause problems on the road with four-wheeled cars and two-wheeled motorcycles, 'he said.
This is a form of our gratitude to Allah SWT, because until this moment we are still given health, for that we must always maintain the health that has been given. In this casual walk this year is more lively than in previous years which has been done many times by the University of Medan Area.
From the observation at the location, after completing the walk, while restoring the body, all participants can also enjoy a meal and drinks provided in front of the psychology faculty building.
In addition, participants also received entertainment and door prizes that were quite interesting. Where, the door prize is a form of appreciation and participation of the Medan Area Area academic community to enliven the 74th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia Anniversary Movement.
