The Faculty of Agriculture, University of Medan Area held a public lecture with the theme "Building Student Spirit for Research in the Field of Plant Diseases in the Digital Era" on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 held at the Convention Hall of Campus I, Medan Area University.
The public lecture was attended by Medan Area University Rector represented by Academic Vice Chancellor Dr. Ir. Hj. Siti Mardiana, M.Sc, Deputy Chancellor for Collaboration Dr. Ir. H. Zulheri Noer, MP, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Dr. Syahbuddin Hasibuan, M.Sc, Vice Dean of Bid. Student Affairs Ir. Gustami Harahap M.P, Head of BAA Ir. Azwana, M.P, Head of LP2M Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Rafiqi Tantawi, MS, Faculty of Agriculture lecturers and agriculture faculty students from the agro-technology and agribusiness study program.
The first event was opened by the Chancellor of Medan Area University, represented by the vice-chancellor in the academic field Dr. Ir. Hj. Siti Mardiana, M.Sc in her speech explained that this public lecture aimed to increase students' insights in the field / specialization certainly in Research in the Field of Plant Diseases in the Digital Age, for that understand the material delivered by the speakers present at this event, said wr 1.
The guest speaker who attended the public lecture was a professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gajah Mada Prof. Dr. Achmadi Priyaymojo M.Sc, on the occasion Prof. Achmadi said that digital agriculture has become a necessity. However, it also needs to be realized that third world conditions are characterized by the majority of small-scale farmers. Therefore, the development of digital agriculture faces its own challenges. ' said Prof. Acmadi.
