Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) University of Medan Area (UMA) Signed a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Batu Tunggal Village District NA IX-X Labuhan Batu Utara Regency, Wednesday 17 July 2019

The memorandum of understanding was signed by the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Dr. Heri Kusmanto, MA and Batu Tunggal Village Head (Kades) of NA IX-X Labura District, Indra Sugiharto, about the agreement to explore and develop village potential.

Also watching, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs Beby Masitho Batubara, S. Sos, MA, Deputy Dean of Student Pawn, Armansyah Matondang, S. Sos. M.Sc, UMA Faculty of Social Sciences Lecturer, Dadang Darmawan, S.Sos, M.Sc and the vice deans in the UMA campus environment.

Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences UMA, Dr. Heri Kusmanto said that the signing of the memorandum of understanding was part of the work program (ramja) and work programs of each study program in the FISIP UMA environment in the fields of research, education, literacy and community service to explore the economic potential of rural communities.

In addition, it also empowers village governance, so that village potentials can be utilized so that Batu Tunggal Village has original village income (PAD).

"We will go straight to Batu Tunggal Village to see what potential can be explored and developed, including what obstacles are faced so that we can find the right solution. Even in the future Batu Tunggal Village can be a village built by FISIP UMA. " said Heri Kusmanto

Heri Kusmanto also hopes that with this memorandum of understanding, Communication Study Program, Public Administration Study Program and Government Science Study Program can conduct research with students. So that the agreement signed is increasingly beneficial both for lecturers, students and the community of Batu Tunggal. Moreover, the activities of the village community and the potential that exists is a study and as the laboratory of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Politics.

It can even be developed with the competency of lecturers in various faculties at UMA.

Head of Batu Tunggal, NA IX-X Labura Subdistrict, Indra Sugiharto said that the potential of many and undeveloped villages is a natural tourism destination. and empowerment of micro small businesses (MSEs) especially marketing the marketing of village community MSE products.

Indra hopes that FISIP UMA will be able to challenge and find solutions for the development and development of the village they lead. He also expressed his gratitude for the willingness of FISIP UMA to sign an agreement of cooperation for the progress of the development of Batu Tunggal Village. so that the potential of the village can be explored to the maximum

"We sincerely hope that this agreement will be immediately followed up with academic studies related to the empowerment of rural communities and village development so that the economy of rural communities can be achieved."
